Alex Jacobs

Assistant Coach

Coach Jacobs is a former Dublin Jerome track athlete who spent two years competing in the decathlon at the college level and transitioned to training specifically for pole vault the remaining two years. He is currently the school record holder in the pole vault at Jerome, but he has high hopes that his athletes will shatter his records and go on to bigger and better heights. After graduating from Eastern Michigan University, Coach Jacobs spent a year coaching in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he led a few athletes to the state championship meet. This will be his second year coaching at Jerome, and he hopes to build a strong pole vault program for years to come. Coach Jacobs also has not stopped training and has aspirations of pole vaulting for Team USA at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Beth Herchek

Asst. Coach

Coach Beth Herchek is entering her 5th year with Dublin Jerome Track and Field as an assistant coach who spends a lot of her time coaching both boy and girl hurdlers. She is an English teacher at Jerome as well and used to coach for the cheer program here. Beth is currently in the process of getting her doctorate in education, so you’ll see her running from practice to class and vice versa, but she thoroughly enjoys her time she gets to spend coaching. When she’s not coaching or teaching, Beth likes to spend time with her fiancé (Coach Andre Cousin - who coaches throws for Jerome) and her family and friends. She is looking forward to a new year full of possibilities and runners who want to try their hand at conquering the hurdles.

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn Willette

Asst. Coach

Coach Willette graduated from Jerome in 2013 where she ran Cross Country and Track and competed in Gymnastics. From there, she went on to run at Ohio State where she studied Communications and Political Science with a specialization in International Relations. She fell in love with running in her Freshman year at Jerome and is happy to be back and part of the team that gave her so much. This will be her 4th year coaching the distance girls at Jerome. Upon graduation from college, she worked with a student athlete ministry at OSU and began working for her family's real estate development business, 4 Points, where she works today. Her favorite part about coaching is getting to witness the moment when an athlete realizes she can do more and does so. That, and just getting to see a team become a team.
